In the middle of being sandwiched by two weeks of midterms (with a slice of 999999 assignments), I had to escape my textbooks and go out to take some photos at least once and to enjoy this great more bipolar than ever weather. I'm pretty sure autumn winds and cold weather hit all of us pretty hard recently, especially that one day it hailed... and obviously it had to fall on the day we went out for photos (hence the dangerously slippery puddles on the floor that I nearly faceplanted on).
Browsing through the many black blazers available out there, trying to find the regular well-fitted one that would be considered "business formal" for conferences related to my program, I landed on this specific one. It might not be obvious from the photos but it is actually not fitted and pretty oversized/long. It was also not a blazer material and more like a coat. And neither was it really "business formal". Don't you love it when you go out looking for something you need and come back with something you don't need!! But I definitely don't regret I got it as I have been wearing it almost everyday because it's the perfect piece to layer up in fall and needless to say that black just pairs with anything.
I am always careful when I decide to shop at Forever 21 as I have ran into too many things that were stained, ripped or faulty but still on display. However, this blazer/coat has been holding up pretty well up until now with the stitches all intact and the quality seems fine, but I would still recommend double-checking every lining before purchasing something (as for any store really, even Zara).
This is once again another monochrome outfit (I promise there will be colors in the very near future! probably pastels or nude colors though) considering it also represents well what I actually wear on a daily basis (minus the heels). It is also one of the rare times I decided to take these Zara white ripped pants out as I find it is always scary to wear them unless you just happen to carry Tide to Go all the time. Ripped skinny jeans are still one of the perfect pieces for fall since they are not as thin as most leggings/jeggings.
