Having recently reached over 10k on Instagram and reading through messages I’ve received ever since, I thought it’d be good to make a post to thank all of those who have been supporting me along the way. It’s sometimes intriguing to me that people actually want to follow photos of what could be perceived to some as mere irrelevant things such as a cup of coffee or an outfit of the day. Being able to use Instagram as a creative outlet to share those small elements of my daily life has been a great distraction from juggling school work and extracurriculars.

I’ve often been asked about what were my goals regarding blogging, whether I was doing it for a specific purpose. While I do enjoy working with various brands on promoting products I like, my main motivation is my love for capturing anything and everything around me even with just an iPhone 6, which is what I mainly take all my photos with. I remember a time where I would just accept anything that went through my email box, because it was something new and exciting. However, I slowly realized it was becoming almost like school work and I had to start setting various posting schedules. Many full-time bloggers out there have their life set on those schedules but this is far from where I want to go with this. I knew this was not why I wanted to blog, at least not at the moment, since it’s only something I chose to commit to on the side. I knew that above all, I enjoyed the freedom to post whenever I felt like it and take a break when it started to become a task with overwhelming deadlines. I’ve come to realize that the main challenge is finding the perfect balance. This is the only answer I have when people ask me how I gained a growing social media following, because otherwise, I really have no clue.

But more meaningful than the number itself are all the inspiring and talented people I’ve been able to connect with in real life through this online platform. Thank you to those who have reached out to me to give me recommendations, to grab a coffee or to shoot. Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me so far (major S/O to anyone who has taken 50 times the same photo for me haha). On a side note, I will be flying to Vietnam this weekend and coming back to midterms so I probably won’t be posting for a while. Until next time x

I met Irwin through Instagram a few months ago and started talking about Hong Kong. We finally met up a few weeks ago in Central and shot for about an hour which is why there isn't much variation in the background. However, that didn't stop the tones from turning out amazing. You guys should definitely check out his feed for more.
